Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh tomatillos
  • 2 jalapenos
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Prep the Tomatillos

  • Remove the husks from all of your fresh tomatillos. Wash them well to remove the sticky outer film.

Boil the Vegetables

  • Place the tomatillos and jalapenos in a large pot. Cover them with water and bring to a boil. Cook until they are soft and turn dark green.

Drain the Water

  • Carefully pour the hot water out of the pot. Let the cooked vegetables cool down for a few minutes.

Blend the Base

  • Put the cooked tomatillos into your kitchen blender. Add the garlic, cilantro, and chopped green onions now.

Add the Cream

  • Scoop the sour cream into the blender jar. Pour in the fresh lime juice and the salt.

Pulse until Smooth

  • Turn the blender on a high speed setting. Mix until the sauce has no large green chunks.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste a small spoonful of your homemade green sauce. Add more salt or lime if you want more zest.
