Parchment paper
- 2 lbs CHICKEN WINGS
- 4 tbsp HONEY
- 2 tbsp SOY SAUCE
- 1 tsp CHILI FLAKES
- 3 cloves GARLIC
- 1 tsp GINGER
- 2 tbsp OLIVE OIL
- 1 tsp SALT
- 1 tsp BLACK PEPPER
- 2 stems GREEN ONIONS
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit now. This high heat ensures the skin gets crispy. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Dry skin is the secret to a crunch. Place the wings into a large bowl.
Drizzle the wings with a little olive oil. Add plenty of salt and black pepper. Toss them well to coat every single piece.
Arrange the wings on the wire rack. Do not let the wings touch each other. This helps the hot air flow around them.
Slide the tray into the hot oven. Bake the wings for twenty-five minutes. They should look golden and very crispy.
Place a saucepan over medium heat now. Add the honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Stir in the ginger and chili flakes.
Let the sauce simmer for five minutes. It should become thick and very bubbly. Remove it from the heat once it thickens.
Take the hot wings out of the oven. Put them back into a clean bowl. Pour the warm honey glaze over the wings.
Toss the wings until they are fully coated. The glaze should stick to the crispy skin. Serve them on a large platter immediately.
- Always dry the chicken wings before you add oil.
- Do not crowd the baking sheet while they cook.
- Use fresh ginger for a much better flavor profile.
- Watch the honey glaze so it does not burn.
- Let wings rest for two minutes before serving them.
- Add extra chili flakes if you want more heat.
- Use a wire rack for the crunchiest wing skin.
