Ingredients
  

  • 500 g strong white bread flour
  • 7 g fast-action dried yeast
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 300 ml warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g currants
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Mix the flour, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add the butter, milk, and egg to form a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled in size.
  • Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and currants.
  • Roll the dough tightly and cut into twelve pieces.
  • Place buns in a tin and let them rise again.
  • Bake at 200C for 20 minutes until golden brown.

Ensure your milk is warm, not hot, to keep the yeast active.
