Equipment

  • Oven Dish
  • Large Frying Pan
  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Wooden spoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Cheese grater.
  • Measuring Jug
  • Kitchen Scales

Ingredients

  • 500 g Cooked Chicken Breast
  • 250 g Sliced Mushrooms
  • 50 g Butter
  • 50 g Plain Flour
  • 600 ml Whole Milk
  • 200 g Fresh Spinach
  • 150 g Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 9 Lasagne Sheets
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Oven

  • Start by heating your oven to 200°C. This ensures the oven is hot enough. A hot oven helps the cheese melt.

Cook the Mushrooms

  • Heat oil in your large frying pan. Add the sliced mushrooms to the hot oil. Cook them until they are golden brown.

Make the Roux

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in the flour with your wooden spoon. Cook this paste for one minute.

Finish the Sauce

  • Slowly add the milk to the flour paste. Whisk constantly to avoid any lumps. The sauce will become thick and creamy.

Add the Fillings

  • Stir the cooked chicken into the white sauce. Add the cooked mushrooms and fresh spinach. Mix them until the spinach wilts.

Season the Mix

  • Add the mustard to the sauce now. Sprinkle in some salt and black pepper. Stir it well to spread the flavor.

First Layer

  • Spoon a little sauce into the oven dish. Spread it over the bottom of the dish. This prevents the pasta from sticking.

Add Pasta Sheets

  • Place a layer of lasagne sheets on top. Do not overlap them too much. They should cover the sauce well.

Repeat the Layers

  • Add more chicken sauce over the pasta. Put another layer of pasta sheets on top. Repeat this until the sauce is gone.

Top with Cheese

  • The final layer should be the creamy sauce. Sprinkle all the grated cheese over the top. Cover the corners very well.

Bake the Lasagne

  • Place the dish in the center of the oven. Bake it for about thirty minutes. The top should be very bubbly.

Rest and Serve

  • Remove the dish from the oven carefully. Let it sit for ten minutes. This makes it much easier to slice.
