Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh tomatillos husks removed.
  • 2 medium jalapenos stems removed.
  • 1 small white onion peeled and halved.
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic.
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro.
  • 1 ripe avocado.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice.
  • 1 teaspoon salt.
  • 1/4 cup water.

Instructions
 

  • Wash the tomatillos and jalapenos very well. Peel the onion and garlic cloves.
  • Place tomatillos and peppers in a pot. Cover them with water and boil. Cook for 10 minutes until soft.
  • Drain the hot water from the pot. Let the vegetables cool for a few minutes.
  • Put boiled vegetables into your blender. Add onion, garlic, cilantro, and avocado.
  • Pour in the lime juice and salt. Add a little water for desired thickness.
  • Pulse the blender until the sauce is smooth. Taste it and add more salt if needed.

Notes

  • Use firm, bright green tomatillos for best flavor.
  • Remove jalapeno seeds if you want less heat.
  • Add the avocado last for a creamy texture.
  • Let the salsa chill before serving it.
  • Store it in an airtight jar in the fridge.
