Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 cups Water
  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin

Instructions
 

Mix Meat and Water

  • Put the raw beef into your large pot. Add the water to the meat now. Stir them together until the meat looks loose.

Boil the Mixture

  • Turn the heat to medium on your stove. Bring the water and beef to a boil. Use your spoon to break up meat clumps.

Add the Spices

  • Lower the heat to a soft simmer. Stir in the tomato paste and all spices. Mix it well so there are no lumps.

Mash the Meat

  • Use a potato masher in the pot. Mash the beef until it is very fine. This creates the famous smooth texture.

Simmer the Sauce

  • Let the sauce cook for twenty minutes. The water will cook down a little bit. It will become thick and very dark.

Serve the Sauce
